Itinerary

Day 1 : Arrive in St. Petersburg

Arrive in St. Petersburg – the former capital of Imperial Russia. On arrival, after clearing immigration and baggage claim, meet your local airport representative / driver outside the arrival hall. Later proceed to your hotel. Tonight enjoy dinner at an Indian Restaurant.

Note: Check-in time at the hotel is after 15:00 hrs.

Day 2 : St. Petersburg

This morning we drive to Peterhof after breakfast. The Peterhof Palace is a series of palaces and gardens located in Petergof, Saint Petersburg, Russia, laid out on the orders of Peter the Great. These palaces and gardens are sometimes referred to as the “Russian Versailles”. The palace ensemble along with the city centre is recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. See the Grand Palace and take a walk to see magnificent fountains and cascades. After lunch, we visit The State Hermitage Museum – a museum of art and culture in Saint Petersburg. The second-largest art museum in the world, it was founded in 1764 when Empress Catherine the Great acquired an impressive collection of paintings from the Berlin merchant Johann Ernst Gotzkowsky. It has been open to the public since 1852. Enjoy the evening at your leisure, before going for your Indian meal.

Day 3 : St. Petersburg

Today after breakfast we take a guided tour to visit Peter and Paul Fortress – the original citadel of St. Petersburg, founded by Peter the Great. The first structure to be built in St. Petersburg, and thus the birthplace of the city. It has had a rich, hugely varied, and sometimes sinister history. We then have a short photo stop at the Church of the Saviour on Spilled Blood and the Statue of Peter the Great. In the afternoon we enjoy a scenic ride on the Neva River. See this beautiful imperial city and some of its most famous historical sites along the banks of the Neva River. The rest of the day is free for shopping or leisure activities before we go for dinner.

Day 4 : St. Petersburg - Moscow

Check out and proceed to Moscow by the “superfast” Sapsan Train. (In case of unavailability of the train, we shall take a flight to Moscow). On arrival enjoy your lunch at an Indian restaurant. Later proceed to The Memorial Museum of Cosmonautics i.e. Space Museum of Moscow, dedicated to space exploration. The museum contains a wide variety of Soviet and Russian space-related exhibits and models which explore the history of flight, astronomy and space exploration & technology. The evening is free for you to enjoy.

Day 5 : Moscow

Today proceed on a guided tour of this marvellous city. Your tour includes a visit to the Kremlin Walls – The Moscow Kremlin Wall is a defensive wall that surrounds the Moscow Kremlin, recognisable by the characteristic notches and its Kremlin towers. Within the walls, we see the Tzar’s Bell, Tzar’s Cannon (without Armoury Chamber) etc. Later continue your city tour to see the Bolshoi Theatre from the outside and other important sites of the capital city. Visit the Red Square – Being the most recognizable symbol of Russia in the world.

Among the main landmarks standing on the Red Square are the famous colourful St. Basil’s Cathedral built on the moat under the rule of Ivan IV, the highest wall of the Kremlin with the Spasskaya tower with the clock, the State Historical Museum and course Lenin’s Mausoleum. Enjoy some free time at the square. After lunch, we take you on a short metro ride tour. The Moscow Metro is also undoubtedly one of the most beautiful. The brainchild of the tsars but finally put into action by Stalin. Each metro station is constructed and decorated in its own unique way. In the evening enjoy the Great Russian Circus.

Day 6 : Departure Moscow

After breakfast check out and proceed to the airport for your return flight.
