Itinerary

Day 1 : Arrive at Delhi

Arrive by International flight; upon arrival you will be met by “STAR INDIA TOURS” representative, after a traditional ‘Swagat’ (welcome) our representative would assist you at airport & transfer to hotel for overnight stay. Whilst the room keys and check-in is organized, our representative would introduce the tour to you and hand over the documents to you. Overnight stay at Delhi.

Day 2 : Old & New Delhi Sightseeing

We enjoy our lavish buffet breakfast at the restaurant of our Hotel.

Today we go on a tour of Old Delhi, the 17th century walled city of Shah Jahanabad, Visiting the great Jama Masjid, the principal mosque of Old Delhi. Later we walk down or take a rickshaw ride through Chandni Chowk, the old marketplace of Shah Jahanabad now a picturesque bazaar.

Red Fort: The largest of Old Delhi’s monuments is Lal Quila or Red Fort whose thick red sandstone walls, bulging with turrets and bastions, have withstood the vagaries of time and nature. The Lal Quila rises above a wide dry moat in the northeast corner of the original city of Shahjahanabad. Its walls extend from two kilometers and vary in height from 18 meters on the river side to 33 meters on the city side.

After lunch at local restaurant in market we go for New Delhi Sightseeing.

In New Delhi we visit Raj Ghat, memorial to the Father of the Nation, Mahatma Gandhi. Further we drive past India Gate, memorial built in the year 1931 to commemorate the Indian soldiers who died in the World War I & the Afghan Wars. We will also visit Humayun’s Tomb, memorial of Mughal Emperor Humayun’s, built in the year 1562. Further we visit Qutub Minar, built in the year 1206 by Qutub-Ud-din Aibek. It is the tallest (72m) brick minaret in the world, an important example of Indo-Islamic Architecture.

Day 3 : Delhi - Jaipur by Car

After morning breakfast at hotel we drive to Jaipur, popularly known as Pink City, the flamboyant & colourful capital of Rajasthan. With its rich & colorful past, resplendent with tales of valour & bravery, it is one of the most important heritage cities in India.

Day 4 : Jaipur

Today early in the morning around 07:00 am we drive 25 Km to Amber Fort, the palace complex which stands to this date was commenced under the reign of Raja Man Singh. We take an Elephant ride to reach the Fort situated on the hill, an overwhelming experience.

Later we visit the City Palace, a perfect blend of Rajasthani & Mughal architecture. The center of the palace is a seven-storied building called Chandra Palace, with fine views over the gardens & the city. Further we visit Jantar Mantar (Solar Observatory), an astronomical treasure house, with solar devices that give accurate predictions till date. We also visit Hawa Mahal (Palace of Winds), a five-storied structure of pink sandstone. It was built in the year 1799 so that veiled royal women could peer down the busy street market unseen by the world through its 593 stone Jharokas (mini windows).

Day 5 : Jaipur - Agra via Fatehpur Sikri (260 Km / 06 Hrs)

Post breakfast we drive to Agra, en route we will visit Fatehpur Sikri (Ghost Capital), the political capital of India’s Mughal Empire under Akbar’s reign, from the year 1571 until 1585, when it was abandoned, ostensibly due to lack of water. We visit Emperor Akbar’s Residential complex, Mosque & Tomb of Salim Chisti.

Further we continue our drive to Agra, beautifully situated on the banks of river Yamuna. It achieved prominence as the capital of the Mughal Emperors from the year 1526 to 1628, remains major tourist destination because of its many splendid Mughal-era monuments, most notably the Taj Mahal, Agra Fort & Fatehpur Sikri.

Day 6 : Agra

Post breakfast we visit Taj Mahal, symbol of eternal love, which stands on the banks of River Yamuna. It was built by the 5th Mughal emperor, Shah Jehan in the year 1631 in memory of his wife, Mumtaz Mahal. It was completed in 22 years. We will take Tonga ride to reach and back from Taj Mahal. Further we visit Agra Fort, taken over from the Lodhis by the Mughal Emperor Akbar in the late 16th century. The Fort can be more accurately described as a walled palatial city. It was built from red sandstone, often inlaid with white marble & intricate decorations. We will also visit Sikandra, Akbar’s tomb. His son Jahangir completed the construction of the tomb in the year 1613.

We will also visit Baby Taj – The tomb was built by Queen Noorjahan in memory of her father Itmad ud Daulah. The monument is regarded as draft of Taj Mahal. It is a jewel box consisting of the main building, gardens and numerous outbuildings. The tomb is built in the famous Charbagh style and has height of only 21 mts. This earned it the name of Baby Taj.

The symbol of Transition: The tomb is witness of the transition in the Mughal architect. The first phase is primarily built from red sandstone with marble decorations as in Akbar’s Fort. While the second phase is based on white marble and pietra dura inlay, most elegantly realized in the Taj Mahal.

Day 7 : Agra - Jhansi (Shatabdi Exp) Jhansi - Khajuraho via Orchha (166 Km / 05 Hrs)

We enjoy our lavish buffet breakfast at the restaurant of our Hotel.

Later Post breakfast. We drive to Agra railway station to board our train Shatabdi Express train to Jhansi.

From Jhansi we drive to Khajuraho, en route we visit Orchha, located at a distance of 16 km from Jhansi. It has a medieval town atmosphere attached to it. The Betwa River quietly flows by the town. The 16th century palaces & temples built by its Bundela rulers appear to be suspended in time. We will visit Orchha Fort complex. Within the Fort complex we visit Jahangir Mahal, built by Raja Bir Singh Ju Deo in the 17th century to commemorate the visit of Emperor Jahangir to Orchha. We also visit Ram Raja temple, palace-turned-temple with soaring spires & palatial architecture. Built by the King Madhukar Shah it is one of the most unusual temples in India & the only place where Lord Rama is worshipped as a King not as a deity.

Later we continue our drive to Khajuraho, built between 950-1050 AD by the mighty warrior kings of the Chandela dynasty, a truly inspired burst of creativity. Contain stunningly explicit erotic sculptures. They were rediscovered in the 20th century, is now a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Day 8 : Khajuraho - Varanasi (By Flight @ 13:55 / 14:45 Hrs)

We enjoy our lavish breakfast at Hotel.

Post Breakfast we visit Eastern & Western Group of Temple. It is here that life in every form and mood has been captured in stone, testifying not only to the craftsman’s artistry but also to the extraordinary breadth of vision of the Chandela Rajput’s.

Later we checkout and Further we continue our drive to Khajuraho Airport to board our flight to Varanasi.

On arrival Varanasi Airport we get on time arrival transfer with assistance, followed by check into hotel.

Varanasi picturesquely situated on the banks of holy river Ganga. The city is the Oldest Living City of the World & traces of its existence are found around 10000 BC. Other than being a very holy city for Hindus, it also holds a very significant association with Buddha’s life & Buddhism.

Half Day Excursion

Later today in the evening we take an excursion to Sarnath, the site of the deer park where Gautama Buddha is said to have given his first sermon about the basic principles of Buddhism. It has been a premier centre for Buddhism & has a rich collection of ancient Buddhist relics & antiques comprising numerous Buddha & Bodhisattva images on display at the Archaeological Museum.

Evening you will enjoy the prayer ceremony on Ghats.

Day 9 : Varanasi - Delhi (By Train @ 19:15 / 07:40 Hrs)

We enjoy our lavish buffet breakfast at the restaurant of our Hotel, Post breakfast we visit full day city tour of Varanasi.

Today we start our day with a boat ride on the river Ganges. The sound of conches & temple bells add to the delicate pink fabric of dawn. The formerly hushed murmuring of ancient Sanskrit Shlokas (hymns) now rises, in one voice, to a crescendo of unparalleled piety & joy.

Later in the afternoon we visit Vishwanath Temple, Vishweshwara Jyotirlinga has a very special and unique significance in the spiritual history of India. We continue of sightseeing of Varanasi we visit “Bharat Mata Temple” The Bharat Mata temple at Varanasi is the only temple dedicated to Mother India. The Bharat Mata temple was built by Babu Shiv Prasad Gupt and inaugurated by Mahatma Gandhi in 1936. The statute of Bharat Mata is built in marble and is a model of undivided India, later we visit “Durga Mata Temple” is also known as the “monkey temple” is one of the important temples of Varanasi. This temple is dedicated to Goddess Durga. According to legends, the present statue of Goddess Durga was not made by man but appeared on its own in the temple. The Durga temple is also called Monkey temple because of the presence of large number of monkeys.

Evening we transfer to Varanasi Railway Station to board our train to Delhi. Overnight at Train.

Day 10 : Arrive Delhi (Arrive @ 07:40 Hrs)

Upon arrival at Delhi Railway Station, our representative will assist you and transfer you to Hotel.

This day is reserved for your relaxation. You can enjoy the shopping in Delhi. Overnight stay at Delhi.

Later we check out from the hotel and drive to Delhi International airport to board flight back to home.
