Importance and History of Yamunotri Ji Dham:

Yamunotri, located in the Uttarkashi district of Uttarakhand, India, is the source of the holy Yamuna River and is considered one of the Char Dham pilgrimage sites in Hinduism.

According to Hindu mythology, Yamunotri is associated with the goddess Yamuna, who is believed to be the daughter of the Sun god, Surya, and the sister of Yama, the god of death. It is said that Yamuna descended to earth at Yamunotri, and the temple was built at the place of her divine origin.

It is believed that the Yamunotri temple was initially built by Maharani Guleria of Jaipur in the 19th century.

The pilgrimage usually involves a trek of about 6 kilometers from the town of Hanuman Chatti to reach the temple. Devotees take a dip in the icy-cold waters of the Yamuna River and offer prayers to the goddess Yamuna.

How to visit Yamunotri:

Barkot – Yamunotri – Barkot {42kms Drive/5 kms Trek(One Side)} Height:3165 MTS:- Early morning after breakfast (packed breakfast), drive to Jankichatti / Phoolchatti & trek from here to Yamunotri (6kms) (Either by walk or by horse or by Doli at own cost). After taking bath in Jamunabai Kund’s warm water and cook rice by packing it in a cloth and dipping it in the hot water of the hot kund. Pilgrims take this cooked rice home as “Prasad”. Having Darshan of “Yamunaji” return to Jankichatti by trek. Overnight stay at Barkot

For Yamunotri Dham temple visit you will be stay in Barkot for Two Night, Barkot is 195Kms from Haridwar.

Importance and History of Gangotri Ji Dham:

Gangotri, situated in the Uttarkashi district of Uttarakhand, India, you will stay in is the origin of the holy Ganges river and is one of the important pilgrimage sites in Hinduism.

According to Hindu mythology, Gangotri is associated with the goddess Ganga, who is believed to have descended to Earth to cleanse the sins of humanity. It is said that King Bhagiratha, an ancestor of Lord Rama, performed intense penance to bring the Ganges down to Earth. Pleased with his devotion, Goddess Ganga descended from the heavens and flowed through Lord Shiva’s locks to mitigate the impact of her powerful flow on the Earth. Gangotri is believed to be the spot where the river emerged from Lord Shiva’s locks.

The Gangotri temple, dedicated to Goddess Ganga, is believed to have been constructed in the early 18th century by Amar Singh Thapa, a Gurkha general.

How to visit Gangotri Dham:

Uttarkashi – Gangotri – Uttarkashi (120kms/5 hrs each side) Heights: 3142 MTS:- Early morning (packed breakfast) drive to Gangotri(3048 mts), enroute at Gangnani take a holy dip in Garam Kund, have bath drive to Gangotri via beautiful Harsil Valley. Harsil is famous for its nature beauty and for the majestic views of the Deodar trees and mountains. On arrival at Shree Gangotri, take a holy dip in the sacred river Ganges which is also called Bhagirathi at its origin. Perform Pooja and Darshan, after that relax for some time in the lovely surroundings. Later drive back to Uttarkashi.

Importance and History of Kedarnath Ji Dham:

Kedarnath, located in the Rudraprayag district of Uttarakhand, India, is one of the holiest and most revered pilgrimage sites in Hinduism.

According to Hindu mythology, Kedarnath is associated with Lord Shiva. The origin of the temple is believed to date back to the time of the Mahabharata epic. It is said that after the Kurukshetra War, the Pandava brothers sought the blessings of Lord Shiva to seek redemption for the war’s sins. Lord Shiva, however, did not want to meet them and disguised himself as a bull. When the Pandavas discovered him, he tried to flee but was eventually caught by Bhima. Lord Shiva then dived into the ground, leaving behind his hump. The remaining parts of Lord Shiva appeared at four other places, which are now revered as the Panch Kedar.

Adi Shankaracharya’s Contribution: Adi Shankaracharya, a great philosopher and theologian of the 8th century CE, played a crucial role in reviving and establishing the prominence of Kedarnath as a major pilgrimage site. He is believed to have discovered the original site of the Kedarnath temple buried under snow and restored it.

Over the centuries, the Kedarnath temple has undergone several renovations and rebuildings. The present-day temple was constructed by the Maratha queen, Ahilyabai Holkar, in the 18th century. The temple is constructed in the traditional North Indian architectural style using large stone slabs, and it stands at an elevation of 3,583 meters (11,755 feet) amidst the stunning Himalayan mountain range.

How to visit Kedarnath Ji: Guptkashi– Shri Kedarnath ji {32kms Drive/19kms Trek (One Side)} Heights: 3584 MTS:-

Morning after breakfast drive to Gaurikund, Trek start from Gaurikund to Shri Kedarnath ji (3584 mts) on foot or on by pony / Doli or by Helicopter Ticket confirmed online in advance (https://www.heliyatra.irctc.co.in/ ). Yatra members should carry personal medicines, heavy woolen, tolietteries and clothes for an overnight halt at Shri Kedarnath. Check in Hotel. After freshening up, visit Shri Kedarnath ji Temple & perform Pooja. In the evening also visit Adi Shankaracharya Samadhi behind the Temple. Overnight stay at Kedarnath hotel/ tents.

The distance is from Haridwar to Kedarnath ji is 250Kms and after that you we will see and visit to Badrinath Ji.

Badrinath Dham, located in the Chamoli district of Uttarakhand, India, is a renowned Hindu pilgrimage site dedicated to Lord Vishnu.

According to Hindu mythology, Badrinath is considered one of the most sacred places associated with Lord Vishnu. The origins of the temple are traced back to the time of the epic Mahabharata. It is believed that Pandavas, the heroes of the Mahabharata, sought Lord Vishnu’s blessings at Badrinath to attain salvation and forgiveness for their actions in the great war.

The present-day Badrinath Temple is believed to have been built in the 16th century by the Garhwal kings.

Adi Shankaracharya founded the Jyotirmath monastery in Joshimath, which is closely associated with the administration of Badrinath Dham.

Devotees visit Badrinath to seek the blessings of Lord Vishnu and attain spiritual enlightenment. The temple complex includes the main shrine dedicated to Lord Badri Narayan, along with other smaller temples dedicated to deities like Lord Narasimha and Goddess Lakshmi.

For Badrinath Ji don’t take any pony, palki or trek because hotels are very near to Badrinath ji temple and vehicles also can reach near to the Bardinath Ji.

Every year, Badrinath Dham attracts a large number of pilgrims from different parts of India and abroad.
